It is with great pride that GALAXIE, Your Musical Universe, returns again in 2014 to support the JUNO Awards to be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba from March 24-30 through the Galaxie Rising Star Program by sponsoring the Blues Album of the Year category.
The Galaxie Rising Star Program has been supporting Canadian musical talent since 1998. In the 15 years of the program, more than 900 artists have directly benefited as winners of the Rising Star Award having received direct funding support in the form of cash bursaries to advance their careers, and by having their music played on Galaxie audio channels in Canada and around the world. Thousands more Canadian music acts have benefitted from the opportunity of exposure at each of the events that Galaxie helps finance across the country and across musical genres. Galaxie’s partnership with the event organizers, through the Rising Star Program, enable the performances of more Canadian artists on stages in front of thousands and thousands of new and existing fans.
At the 2014 JUNO Awards, The Blues Album of the Year Award will be accompanied by a $2000 bursary from Galaxie. The winning artist will also have the opportunity to be featured on the Galaxie The Blues Channel, distributed in more than 10 million Canadian homes as well as in more than 30 million more households worldwide.
We wish to thank CARAS for their continued dedication to the promotion and recognition of Canadian musicians.
Regards,
