Toronto, September 3, 2024 – Stingray (TSX: RAY.A; RAY.B), a leading music, media, and technology company, today launched New Country 93.5 in Toronto.

After decades without a dedicated local country music station, Toronto finally has what it’s been missing. As of 6 a.m. this morning, New Country 93.5 burst onto the airwaves, igniting a new era for the country music scene in Canada’s largest market.

At a time when country music couldn’t be hotter, New Country 93.5 is bringing you the biggest international stars like Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, Keith Urban, Jelly Roll, and more. But that’s not all—expect a heavy dose of homegrown Canadian talent like Brett Kissel, Dallas Smith, Mackenzie Porter and The Reklaws.

The New Country 93.5 on air lineup includes CMA Award-winning broadcaster and former CMT presenter Paul McGuire (weekdays 6am-10am), Canadian Country Music and British Columbia Country Music Association Personality of the Year Casey Clarke (weekdays , 7pm-Midnight), Devin McNeil (weekdays 10am – 3pm), Vanessa Newman (weekdays 3pm – 7pm) and Samantha Stevens (weekends 10am – 3pm) rounds out the on-air team.

“The timing to launch a country station probably couldn’t be better,” according to Steve Jones, President of Stingray Radio. “The data that we’ve seen about who is listening to country and why…it’s younger, it’s more urban. Young urban professionals who are trapped in cookie cutter condos in the downtown core of a big city crave the values that Country music stands for and it provides a connection to a different environment than the city life they live.”

Toronto’s New Country 93.5 completes Stingray’s New Country network of 20 stations – Canada’s largest country radio network.
